EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop I


Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the assignment of three new troopers to Troop I.
The newly assigned troopers were members of the 98th Recruit Class, which began training on January 2, 2014, at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri, and graduated on June 27, 2014. The new troopers reported to duty at Troop I Headquarters in Rolla, Missouri, on July 14, 2014, and will continue their training under the guidance of their field training officers.
Trooper Roberto A. Rizo has been assigned to Zone 1, which patrols Phelps and Eastern Maries counties. Trooper Rizo is a native of Naperville, Illinois, and a 1997 graduate of Waubonise Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois. Trooper Rizo is also a 2013 graduate of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri, where he earned an associate’s degree in law enforcement. Prior to his appointment, Trooper Rizo served as a Rolla, Missouri, police officer. Trooper Rizo is married to Jaime (Pope) Rizo. His field training officer is Trooper Jacob R. Sellers.
Trooper Grant A. Ayers has been assigned to Zone 3, which patrols Crawford County. Trooper Ayers is a native of Jefferson City, Missouri, and a 2004 graduate of Jefferson City High School. Prior to his appointment to the patrol, Trooper Ayers served for five years in the United States Marine Corps. Trooper Ayers' field training officer is Trooper Clinton R. Capps.
Trooper G. Tyler Hackett has been assigned to Zone 4, which patrols Pulaski and Western Maries counties. Trooper Hackett is a native of Lafayette, Indiana, and a 2004 graduate of First Assembly Christian Academy in Lafayette. In 2009, he graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in administration. In 2013, he earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Evangel University in Springfield. Prior to his appointment to the Patrol, Trooper Hackett served as a security officer at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Trooper Hackett is married to Tiffany (Martin) Hackett. His field training officer is Trooper M. Kelbe Eden.
