Of the citations issued, 12 were for speeding, one was for failure to yield, two were for seat belt violations, three were for non-moving violations, and one was issued for an insurance violation.
On May 23, 2008, a Special Traffic Enforcement Operation was conducted throughout the 16 counties of Troop B. As a result of this operation, which began at 7 p.m. and ended at 3a.m. on May 24, 2008, six officers issued eight traffic citations and 63 warnings. Of the citations issued, seven were for speeding, and one for a seat belt violation.
On May 26, 2008, a Special Traffic Enforcement Operation was conducted in Marion, Clark, Lewis, and Ralls counties. Of those citations issued, 14 were for speeding, four for seat belt violations, one for a child restraint violation, and one for a stop sign violation.
“Troop B officers have been working very hard to help keep our highways safe,” stated Captain Elliott. “I would like to urge motorists do their part in reducing the number of traffic crashes by wearing their seat belts and obeying all traffic laws.”
