EMPHASIS: DWI Checkpoint In Jackson County
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted in Jackson County sometime during the month of June. The checkpoint will be a joint effort with the Kansas City Police Department.
The checkpoint is part of the continuing effort by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies to remove intoxicated drivers from the highways. The checkpoint will consist of officers stopping drivers at a set location and testing those who have been drinking.
Captain Powell stated, “Removing intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s roadways continues to be a high priority for the Highway Patrol. If you are going to drink, please do not drive.”
