EMPHASIS: Troop E To Participate In Operation Lifesaver
Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces on April 28-29, 2014, Troop E officers will be working with Missouri Operation Lifesaver volunteers in Butler and Scott counties to raise the awareness level for railroad crossing safety and trespass prevention. Troopers will be part of safety teams that visit with motorists briefly in advance of certain railroad crossings. Team members will be reminding drivers about railroad safety tips as they approach crossings throughout the counties.
Operation Lifesaver has just launched a new safety campaign "See Tracks? Think Train" with the goal of encouraging drivers and pedestrians to always expect a train anytime they are near railroad tracks.
In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
