EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturations Conducted In Adair County

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of Selected Traffic Enforcement Operations conducted in Adair County on July 23 and July 24, 2010. During the enforcement operations, which were held from 10:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. each day, officers focused their attention on intoxicated drivers, excessive speed, and other traffic violations that cause traffic crashes. As a result of the enforcement operations, six officers stopped 49 vehicles, made 10 arrests, and issued 77 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operations:

4 -- Arrests for driving while intoxicated
3 -- Arrests for possession of intoxicants as a minor
1 -- Summons for a seat belt violation
1 -- Summons for a stop sign violation
1 -- Summons for an insurance violation
