EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces 2012 Memorial Weekend Totals


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the Memorial Day weekend traffic crash and enforcement totals for the Troop E area, which consists of 13 counties in Southeast Missouri. Troop E officers investigated 48 traffic crashes, which resulted in 24 injuries and zero fatalities. Troop E officers working on Interstate 55 participated in the 20-Mile Trooper project. Troopers assigned to this operation worked 12-hour shifts to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Southeast Missouri on Friday May 25, 2012, and Monday May 28, 2012. Totals from this operation include:

6 -- Driver’s License Summonses
23 -- Non-Moving Summonses
12 -- Uninsured Motorist Summonses
3 -- Hazardous Moving Summonses

9-- Misdemeanor Warrant Arrests

Captain Ridens said, "We will continue to do our job in making our highways as safe as possible for all travelers. Please remember we need your continued help--pay attention, obey all traffic laws, make sure everyone is buckled up, and if you drink, don't drive."
