EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results of DWI Saturation

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation patrol conducted in Pulaski County from 7 p.m. on July 3, 2014 until 3 a.m. July 4, 2014. During the operation, troopers placed a special emphasis on patrolling those highways where in the past a higher number of impaired drivers were either involved in a traffic crash or arrested for DWI.
During the enforcement operation troopers stopped 32 vehicles, and issued 21 citations and 32 warnings. The following is a breakdown of the traffic citations and arrests:

DWI: 2
Speed: 3
Seat Belt Violations: 9
Driver’s License Violation: 1
Uninsured Motorists: 1
Hazardous Moving Violations: 2
Misdemeanor Possession of Drugs: 2
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest: 1

Captain Remillard stated, “If you see what appears to be an impaired driver on a Missouri highway, or you need to report an emergency, please dial the Patrol’s emergency hotline, 1-800-525-5555 or * 55 on your cellular phone.”
In support of “The Drive TO ZERO Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
