EMPHASIS: Results Of Hazardous Moving Violation Project In Troop E

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, announces the results of a hazardous moving violation project conducted in Butler County, on Friday, June 5, 2015. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a hazardous moving project within Troop E. During the four hours, troopers stopped a total of 37 vehicles. The following is a summary of the enforcement contacts made:

4 -- Speed Summonses
12 -- Seat Belt Summonses
2 -- Hazardous Moving Summonses
2 -- Non-Moving Summonses
3 -- Misdemeanor Warrant Arrests
2 -- Misdemeanor Drug Arrests

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
