EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturation Conducted In Adair And Sullivan Counties

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in Adair and Sullivan counties. The saturation began at 6 p.m., and concluded at 10 p.m. on May 5, 2013. During this enforcement operation, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, three officers made six arrests and issued 18 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturation:

1 -- Citation issued for exceeding the posted speed limit
2 -- Citations issued for license violations
2 -- Citations issued for non-moving violations
1 -- Citation issued for an insurance violation

"The Patrol will conduct more traffic enforcement programs in the upcoming months," stated Captain Wilt. "The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver."
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
