Troop F Prepares For Thanksgiving Holiday Traffic
Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces Troop F officers will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. during the 2016 Thanksgiving holiday weekend which will begin on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, and conclude on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) is a national traffic enforcement program aimed at making holiday weekends safer. During this enforcement operation, troopers will be assigned to patrol Missouri highways, not only aggressively enforcing traffic laws, but also to be available in the event motorists experience any type of emergency.
In addition to Operation C.A.R.E., Troop F officers will conduct a holiday traffic crash reduction enforcement operation on portions of Interstate 70, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, and Sunday, November 27, 2016. During this operation, extra troopers will be assigned to the highways in an effort to promote safety and reduce traffic crashes on the primary roadways in Troop F.
"Many people will be traveling to visit family and friends over this holiday period," stated Captain Turner. "Our goal is very simple: We want everyone to arrive at their destination safely. Please obey all traffic laws, ensure that everyone in your vehicle is properly restrained, and never drive impaired."
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
