EMPHASIS: Troop G Urges Extreme Caution On Roadways

Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, wants to urge the public to use extreme caution when traveling during this period of winter weather. Recent ice and snow accumulations have created many hazardous conditions on Troop G roadways.
There have been nine traffic fatalities recorded in the past approximate 24-hour period in the state of Missouri, most of which were directly attributable to slick roadways. The Troop G area recorded one such fatality.
Motorists faced with an unavoidable need to travel are reminded that they can check the road conditions by visiting www.traveler.modot.org or by calling 1-800-275-6636.
Captain Isringhausen says, “If you must drive, please use good common sense when traveling. If you can avoid travel altogether, please do. It is always better to err on the side of caution than to take a chance.”
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click IT 4 Life and Wear It!!!
