EMPHASIS: Polo, Missouri, Resident Arrested On Felony Drug Charges


On October 5, 2007, at approximately 11:19 p.m., a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper stopped a 2007 Mitsubishi, for a traffic violation at the intersection of Pershing Drive and Laclede Avenue, in Brookfield, Missouri. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and identified as Ricky L. Darby, 53, of Polo, Missouri. During the traffic stop it was determined Darby was intoxicated and was in possession of over 60 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Darby was subsequently arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, felony marijuana possession, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, and a seat belt violation. Darby was released to the Linn County Sheriff’s Department.
The charges for which Darby was arrested are accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
