EMPHASIS: Missouri State Highway Patrol Reaccredited

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) awarded advanced accreditation with excellence to the Missouri State Highway Patrol at its fall conference banquet in Jacksonville, FL, on Saturday evening, November 17, 2012. This marks the seventh time the Patrol has successfully been reviewed and approved for accreditation. The Patrol has maintained its accredited status since 1992, when it became the 11th state law enforcement agency to become accredited by CALEA.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol successfully completed a gold standard assessment process, which focuses primarily on processes and outcomes associated with standards specific to agency policies. The most recent reaccreditation also was achieved with excellence, a designation by CALEA to recognize the effective use of accreditation as a model for enhanced public safety service delivery.

“The Missouri State Highway Patrol adheres to internationally accepted standards in fulfilling its mission to deliver high quality law enforcement services to the citizens it serves," said Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. "Being recommended for accreditation for the seventh time is an important distinction for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. We look forward to our continued affiliation with CALEA."

Approximately 1,000 agencies from the US, Canada, Mexico, Barbados, and Bermuda participate in CALEA accreditation processes. Twenty-three Missouri law enforcement agencies participate in the CALEA process.
