EMPHASIS: Trooper Receives Special Training, Homeland Security.
Trooper Adam Buff, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D, recently completed Homeland Security training at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), located in Anniston, Alabama. The CDP is operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency, and is the only federally chartered weapons of mass destruction (WMD) training facility in the nation.
The training took place in Alabama, and included comprehensive instruction in responding to chemical incidents. While donning a protective chemical suit Tpr. Buff trained in restricted areas contaminated with Sarin and VX nerve agents to demonstrate and instill confidence in protective equipment used during critical incidents.
Tpr. Buff has been employed by the Patrol for 12 years, and resides in Kimberling City, Missouri. Tpr. Buff is assigned as the Stone County anti-terrorism officer and also has attended training in Socorro, New Mexico, regarding “Incident Response To Terrorist Bombings”.
