EMPHASIS: Missing Person Darrell R. Allen Found Deceased In Rural Southeast Macon County

At approximately 1:30 p.m., on January 24, 2010, the body of Darrell R. Allen, 74, of rural Macon County, was discovered by a citizen along Normandale Road, just east of Missouri Route Y, in southeast Macon County. Allen’s 2000 Chevrolet pickup was located a short time later by a Missouri State Highway Patrol aircraft, stuck in the mud on Omega Street, approximately one-mile east of the body. Allen was pronounced dead by a member of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department and his body has been taken to the Macon County Coroner’s office, in Macon, Missouri. Macon County Coroner Brian Hayes has scheduled an autopsy of the body for Monday, January 25, 2010. Preliminary information indicates no signs of foul play and the exact cause of death is unknown at this time.
Darrell Allen had been missing from his residence in rural northeast Macon County since 10:00 p.m., on January 19, 2010. The investigation is being conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriff’s Department, and Macon County Coroner Brian Hayes.
