EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Checkpoint In Jackson County


Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on June 26, 2009. The checkpoint was a joint effort with the Kansas City Police Department.
A total of 1,371 cars were stopped during this operation. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made a total of one arrest for felony driving while intoxicated, one arrest for driving while intoxicated, four arrests on misdemeanor warrants, and one misdemeanor criminal arrest. In addition, four citations and 125 warnings were issued.
Captain Powell stated, “The Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies are working hard to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways. Please remember to do your part, if you are going to drink, please do not drive.”
