EMPHASIS: Troopers Arrest Robbery Suspect In McDonald County

On February 4, 2014, at approximately 2:00 p.m., troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol took a McDonald County resident into custody following a robbery in Southern McDonald County.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., the clerk at Salto Smoke Shop on Missouri Route O, near the Oklahoma state line in McDonald County, was robbed at gunpoint and his car was stolen at the business. Following a broadcast regarding the stolen vehicle, troopers located the driver and vehicle at the intersection of Missouri Highway 43 and Route O. After a short pursuit into Southwest City, Missouri, the driver was taken into custody behind a residence near the intersection of Mill Street and Chickasaw Street.

Douglas T. Brown, 46, of Pineville, Missouri, was arrested for first degree robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, stealing a motor vehicle, and several traffic violations. Brown was transported to the McDonald County Jail in Pineville.

The charges for which Douglas T. Brown was arrested are mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
