EMPHASIS: Troop G Lieutenant Graduates FBI National Academy

Captain Mark G. Inman announces a lieutenant assigned to Troop G has graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. On September 16, 2016, Lieutenant Donald Larsen was among 230 law enforcement officers who graduated the 256th Session of the National Academy. The class consisted of men and women from 47 states. Included in the class were members of law enforcement agencies from the District of Columbia, 24 countries, three military organizations, and four federal civilian organizations.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI's National Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. On average, these officers have 19 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, special agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise. FBI Director James Comey was the princiapl speaker at the graduation ceremony.

Lieutenant Larsen began his Patrol career in 1995 working in the Troop C area. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2014, and was assigned to Troop G. He resides in West Plains, Missouri, with his wife Rachael (Goad) Larsen and two sons, Brock and Chase. The only 100 percent survivable crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “Don’t Violate Trust.”
