EMPHASIS: Florida Resident Arrested In Randolph County On Drug Charges

On Saturday, December 8, 2007, at approximately 12:15 p.m., a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper checked the speed of a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix, which was traveling southbound on U.S. 63 just south of Jacksonville, Missouri, at 80 miles per hour. The trooper stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle who was identified as Jared P. Poush, 19, of Melbourne, Florida. During the traffic stop it was determined that Poush was under the influence of drugs, and was in illegal possession of Zanex and Seroquel tablets, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Poush was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription narcotics outside of prescribed container, driving under the influence of drugs, and speeding.
Poush was taken to the Randolph County Detention Facility where he is being held on a $45,000 bond.
The charges for which Poush was arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
