EMPHASIS: Novinger Resident Arrested On Drug Charges
On August 28, 2007, at approximately 11:05 p.m., members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B Marijuana Eradication Team, Adair County Sheriff’s Department, and the North Missouri Drug Task Force arrested Larry C. McFarland, 51, of Novinger, Missouri, on an Adair County warrant for felony production of a controlled substance (marijuana). McFarland was also arrested for felony maintaining a public nuisance, felony firearms possession, possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana, and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest of McFarland followed a lengthy investigation of an illegal marijuana growing operation in Adair County, and the execution of a search warrant at McFarland’s residence in rural Adair County on July 28, 2007. During the execution of the search warrant, growing marijuana plants and other drug contraband were located along with several firearms.
McFarland was taken to the Adair County Detention Center where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
The charges for which McFarland was arrested are accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
