EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Results Of Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Program

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of SAFETE, an enforcement program focusing on violations of commercial motor vehicles. SAFETE was conducted on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in St. Charles County. During the eight-hour project, five troopers focused their enforcement activities on hazardous operations of commercial motor vehicles.

As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 15 summonses and 42 warnings were issued. Of those summonses, two people were cited for exceeding the speed limit, two people were cited for hazardous moving violations, two people were cited for non-moving violations, and nine summonses were issued for commercial motor vehicle violations. During the eight-hour project, 37 vehicles were stopped.

Captain Johnson stated, “Enforcement of commercial motor vehicle laws and regulations is critical to the safety of the motoring public.
