EMPHASIS: Drug Seizure, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D.
On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, an eastbound 2007 Kenworth tractor-trailer was stopped by commercial motor vehicle officers for a routine inspection, on Interstate 44 at Missouri Highway 744, in Greene County. Due to unusual circumstances, a trooper was summoned, then a request to search was requested and granted. The ensuing search of the tractor resulted in the discovery of 140 pounds of marijuana found inside of five separate duffel bags.
The driver, Jose F. Pico Acevedo, of Riveria, CA, was arrested for trafficking marijuana, and released pending warrant.
The charge for which the above person is accused is mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of this charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
