As the officer made contact with the driver, who was identified as Jeremy W. Tompson, 25, of Moberly, Missouri, a firearm was observed on the front seat of the pickup. Tompson exited his vehicle and was apprehended following a short foot pursuit. Following the apprehension, Tompson was found to be in possession of several individual packets of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine, and a stolen license plate.
Tompson was arrested for the following charges: felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony resisting arrest, felony armed criminal action, possession of stolen property, speed, failure to display valid license plates, no insurance, and displaying plates of another.
Tompson was transported to the Randolph County Jail and is being held on a $25,000 cash only bond.
