EMPHASIS: Drug Arrest In Lafayette County
On December 10, 2010, a 2002 Honda Accord was stopped by a state trooper for a traffic violation on Missouri Route T north of Interstate 70 in Lafayette County, Missouri. During the course of the traffic stop, the trooper noticed the strong odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. Consent to search was requested and granted, by the driver, who was identified as Ricky O. Herndon. The subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 60 pounds of processed marijuana located in the trunk and rear seat.
Ricky O. Herndon, of Bryson City, North Carolina, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and was transported to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
The charge for which Mr. Herndon was arrested, is mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
