EMPHASIS: Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. Results For St. Louis/St. Charles Counties


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of the Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. project that was conducted on Thursday, December 20, 2012, on Interstate 70, in St. Louis and St. Charles counties, on the east and west side of the Blanchette Bridge. During the eight-hour project, six troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred within these construction/work zones.

As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 35 summonses and 35 warnings were issued.

Speed -- 15 summonses
Seat Belt -- 4 summonses
Non-Moving Violations -- 6 summonses
Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 2 summonses
No Driver’s License/Suspended or Revoked -- 3 summonses
Uninsured Motorists -- 5 summonses

In addition, troopers conducted two commercial vehicle inspections.

Captain Johnson stated, “This was an extremely productive enforcement project, and because of the results it is apparent that there continues to be a need for these types of operations. We strongly encourage all motorists to focus their attention on the job of driving safely through our many construction zones.”

The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click It 4 Life!
