EMPHASIS: Troop G Announces Off-Duty Death Of Member


Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, regretfully announces the death of Sergeant David D. Finley, badge #627.
On Saturday, June 22, 2013, at approximately 2:35 p.m., while off-duty, Sergeant David D. Finley, 43, of West Plains, drowned on Lake Wedington in Washington County, in Northwest Arkansas. He was preparing for the Ozark Valley Triathlon to be held there Sunday. His body was recovered by Arkansas authorities at 8:30 p.m.
Sergeant Finley was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol in January 1995. At the time of his death, he was the zone commander of Zone 6, Southern Howell and Oregon counties. He is survived by his wife, Debra, a son, Zachary, 11, and a daughter, Allyson, 8.
The visitation for Sergeant Finley will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the First
United Methodist Church, 503 W. Main Street, West Plains, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013, at the West Plains Civic Center, 110
Saint Louis Street, West Plains. The burial will be at the Howell Memorial Cemetery, on U. S.
Highway 63, north of West Plains.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the children of Sergeant Finley in care of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main Street, West Plains, Missouri 65775.
