EMPHASIS: Results Of Selective Enforcement Operation Conducted In Troop B
Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation conducted in Troop B on October 27, 2007. During the four-hour operation, four officers worked throughout the Troop B area focusing their attention on excessive speed, hazardous moving, and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, a total of 22 summonses and 22 warnings were issued. Of those traffic summonses issued, 17 were issued for speeding, three were issued for seat belt violations, one was issued for a non-moving violation, and one was issued for an insurance violation.
“The Patrol recently announced its new traffic safety campaign, “I’m Saving Lives. Help Wanted.”, stated Captain Elliott. “Enforcement operations like these are important, but we need your help in reducing traffic crashes.”
