EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Results Of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) SAFETE Operations


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) SAFETE operations in Greene and Lawrence counties on February 4, 2016. Totals from these operations include:

During the operation in Greene County, troopers stopped 20 commercial vehicles and seven passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 19 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Speed Violations – 3
Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 4
Commercial Vehicle Hazardous Moving Violation -- 1
Passenger Vehicle Hazardous Moving Violation -- 1
Seat Belt Violations -- 5
Non-Moving Violations -- 2

Troopers also issued 37 warnings for various other offenses during these operations.

During the operation in Lawrence County, troopers stopped 19 commercial vehicles and three passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 19 commercial motor vehicle inspections which resulted in one commercial vehicle being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Troopers also issued 20 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
