EMPHASIS: Arrest Made For Stealing.

Captain S. L. Eberhard, Director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces the arrest of Howard A. Smith for felony stealing, felony receiving stolen property, and felony resisting arrest. The arrest is a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Division of Drug and Crime Control's Troop B Investigation Unit.

On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Knox County Deputies arrested Howard A. Smith, age 40, of Edina, Missouri on Knox County felony warrants for stealing and receiving stolen property. Smith was also arrested for felony resisting arrest by fleeing. Smith was held in the Lewis County Jail pending release on a $10,000 cash only bond.

The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
