EMPHASIS: Promotions Announced For Troop D

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, is pleased to announce the following promotions, which are effective October 1, 2012:

Corporal C. Clay Meyer was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated zone supervisor for Zone 20, marine operations in the northern half of Troop D. Born in Lexington, Missouri, Sergeant Meyer graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1983. He attended University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, and obtained an associate’s degree from Mineral Area College while attending the Patrol Academy in 1990. He served in the United States Army from 1987 until 1990, where he attained the rank of specialist. Upon completing the Patrol Academy in 1990, he was assigned to Troop D, and has worked Polk, Hickory, Dallas, and St. Clair counties. In 2006, he was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor for Zone 3, serving Polk County. Sergeant Meyer and his wife Renee (Luebbering), are the parents of two children, Cole, 18, and Cristen, 16.

Trooper Kelsey J. Rutledge was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor for Zone 20, marine operations in the northern half of Troop D. Corporal Rutledge was born in Aurora, Missouri, and graduated in 1997 from Mt. Vernon High School. He attended Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, and served in the United States Army Reserve from 1996 until 2004, where he attained the rank of sergeant. Upon completing the Patrol Academy in 2000, he was initially assigned to Vernon and Barton counties in Troop D before transferring to Zone 5, Jasper County in 2004, and to Zone 6, Lawrence and Dade counties, in 2010. Corporal Rutledge is married to Megan (Kendall), a native of Joplin, and they have three children, Kendall, 8, Marin, 7, and Marae, 6 months.

Trooper Trenton A. Badgett was promoted to the rank of corporal and assigned as assistant zone supervisor for Zone 1, Greene County, transferring from Zone 10, Webster County. Originally from Council Bluffs, Iowa, Corporal Badgett graduated from Kickapoo High School, Springfield, Missouri, in 1989. He served in the United States Air Force from 1989 until 1993 with the security police, attaining the rank of senior airman. He attended Missouri State University, Springfield, and obtained an associate’s degree from Mineral Area College while attending the Patrol Academy. Badgett was appointed to the Patrol in 1997, and following completion of the Academy, he was assigned to Johnson County in Troop A. He transferred to Troop D in 2001. Corporal Badgett is married to Amanda (Miller), a native of Jefferson City, Missouri.
