EMPHASIS: 2010 Wings Over Whiteman Air Show To Be Held September 18th & 19th

The 2010 Wings Over Whiteman Air Show is scheduled to take place this Saturday and Sunday, September 18-19, 2010. The event expected to draw a large crowd and cause major traffic congestion on the highways surrounding the Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol encourages those attending to anticipate traffic delays and plan ahead to ensure a fun and safe weekend for everyone. The Patrol would also remind motorists to be patient and expect delays.

Motorists attending from the Kansas City area via U.S. Highway 50 are encouraged to utilize the free park and ride service located at Warrensburg High School, 1411 South Ridgeview, in Warrensburg, Missouri, as long as spaces are available. Buses will be running both days of the air show. Motorists who are coming from the east (St. Louis area) are encouraged to utilize parking at the military base.
Electronic message boards will be utilized to assist motorists with their routes of travel. Upon entering the military base, drivers will be directed to free parking areas. For additional information about the event, visit wingsoverwhiteman.com.
