Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Newton County and DWI saturations in Barry and Stone counties on August 22-24, 2013. The enforcement locations were selected based on their high number of drinking and impairment-related traffic crashes and the large number of contacts with drivers who have been intoxicated.

The public can contact the Highway Patrol toll-free at 1-800-525-5555 or on their cellular phone at *55.

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
