EMPHASIS: Drug Seizure, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D

On January 12, 2009, an eastbound 2009 Toyota Camry was stopped by a trooper for speeding on Interstate 44, west of Strafford, MO, in Greene County. After speaking with the driver, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity, then asked for and received consent to search the vehicle. As a result of the search, five kilos of cocaine were discovered in the vehicle.

The driver, Desmond W. Thompson, 39, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested for trafficking cocaine and released to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

The charge for which the above person was arrested is a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of this charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
