EMPHASIS: Results of Sobriety Checkpoint

A total of 10 arrests and 42 warnings were issued as a result of a sobriety checkpoint held in Clinton County, on U.S. 169 highway. The checkpoint was conducted on July 14, 2007, from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
The arrest totals are as follows: One person was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and there was one seat belt violation, one child restraint violation, one driver’s license violation, one minor in possession of alcohol, and five misdemeanor drug arrests made during the operation.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted the checkpoint with the assistance of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “The Missouri State Highway Patrol uses the sobriety checkpoint in areas that have shown a history of alcohol-related traffic crashes. Motorists who come into the checkpoint will feel little if any inconvenience, compared to the benefits.”
