EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint And Enforcement Saturations


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Barry County and enforcement saturations on Table Rock Lake and the Niangua River on August 30-31, 2013. The enforcement locations were selected based on their high number of drinking and impairment-related traffic/boating crashes, in addition to reported behavioral problems, illegal drug usage, and underage alcohol consumption.

Troopers conducting the Barry County sobriety checkpoint stopped 326 vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:

Non-Moving Traffic Offenses -- 4
Driver’s License Violations -- 9
Uninsured Motorists Violations -- 10
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest -- 1
Drug Arrests -- 4
Minor In Possession Violation -- 1
