During the holiday weekend troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. During the 2013 Memorial Day weekend traffic crash counting period, which began at 6 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, and ended at 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2013, Troop B officers investigated seven traffic crashes resulting in no injuries or fatalities. Preliminary enforcement totals show officers issued 468 summonses for exceeding the posted speed limit, 105 summonses for seat belt violations, issued 676 warnings, made five arrests for driving while intoxicated, and assisted 249 motorists.
