EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint Results


On August 27, 2010, a sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Dekalb County. A total of 10 troopers were assigned to the four-hour operation.
Troopers arrested two minors in possession of alcohol and issued one summons for a non-moving violation. Troopers also issued 16 warnings to motorists for minor violations. A total of 58 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “We were encouraged by the absence of impaired drivers, but concerned by the minors who were in possession of alcohol.”
