EMPHASIS: Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over On St. Patrick's Day Weekend

In 2011, impaired drivers contributed to nearly 30 percent of all Missouri fatal traffic crashes. Last year, 220 people were killed by impaired drivers and 916 were injured in alcohol-related crashes. This St. Patrick’s Day weekend, the Missouri State Highway Patrol will participate with other law enforcement agencies to arrest impaired drivers, and to help safeguard Missouri’s roadways.
Troop H will join the statewide efforts establishing sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturation programs to keep impaired drivers off the roads.
“Arresting impaired drivers is a priority of the Missouri State Highway Patrol," stated Captain Duane Robinson.
To report intoxicated drivers, motorists can use the Patrol’s emergency telephone numbers. They are 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55.
