EMPHASIS: New Year's Traffic Crash and Enforcement Totals


Captain Vincent J. Ellis, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the New Year’s traffic crash and enforcement totals. The counting period began at 6 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2007, and ended at 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2008.
Troop A’s 13-county region accounted for a total of 44 crashes with 16 occupants injured. Troopers arrested 17 drivers for driving while intoxicated.
Captain Ellis would like to remind all motorists to wear their seat belts, drive the speed limit, pay attention to the job of driving, and please do not drive a motor vehicle if you are going to be drinking alcoholic beverages.
