EMPHASIS: Announcement Of Sobriety Checkpoint & Driving While Intoxicated Saturation

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of July, Troop H will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and a driving while intoxicated saturation. The sobriety checkpoint will be held in Atchison County, and the saturation will be conducted in Clinton County.
The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are not impaired. The driving while intoxicated saturation is a mobile operation in which troopers saturate a specific highway in an effort to arrest intoxicated drivers.
Captain Robinson urges the public to report all impaired drivers. “Arresting impaired drivers and keeping Missouri roadways safe for motorists is a priority for the Patrol,” stated Captain Robinson.
To report unsafe driving, motorists can use the Patrol’s emergency telephone numbers. They are 1-800-525-5555 or, on a cellular phone, *55.
