EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases July Fourth Holiday Totals


Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following traffic totals for the July Fourth holiday period. From July 3, 2013 through July 8, 2013, troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort). Additionally, troopers conducted a “20-Mile Trooper” project on U.S. Highway 60 on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, and Sunday, July 8, 2013.

Preliminary enforcement totals include:

10-- DWI arrests
1-- DWI arrest-drugs
365-- speed summonses
126-- seat belt summonses
4-- child restraint summonses
62-- drug arrests
187-- other arrests
676 -- warnings

Troopers investigated 29 traffic crashes, five of which were alcohol-related. These crashes resulted in injuries to 11 individuals with one fatality. Troop G officers also assisted 183 motorists during the weekend.

Captain Isringhausen says, “We are always sorry when we experience a fatal crash in Troop G, as we did this holiday weekend. Please exercise the highest degree of care behind the wheel and always wear your seat belt.”

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click it 4 Life and Wear It!!!
