Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, St. Louis, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on Friday, May 1, 2009, in St. Louis County. Four Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers conducted the enforcement operation during the eight-hour project.
As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 22 arrests were made and 43 warnings were issued. Of the 22 arrests, one person was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
“Sobriety checkpoints are very important in making our highways a safer place to travel,” stated Captain Johnson. “Troop C officers will be conducting various special enforcement operations throughout the year with a goal of reducing traffic crashes.”
