EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of Rt. 66 Enforcement Program



Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of the “Get Your Clicks On Route 66 Enforcement” program that was conducted on Friday, February 3, 2012. Missouri, along with eight other states along the traditional Route 66 corridor, teamed up to dedicate this day to enforcing vigorously all traffic laws, with a special emphasis on seat belt violations. In addition to investigating eight traffic crashes and issuing 69 warnings, Troop I officer made arrests and issued summons for the following offenses:
DWI: 3
Careless & Imprudent Driving: 3
Following Too Close: 1
Seat Belt Violation: 10
Uninsured Motorist: 3
No Driver’s License: 1
Other Hazardous Moving Violations: 5
Non-Moving Traffic Offenses: 3
Speed: 17
Failure To Yield: 3
Felony Arrest: 1
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest: 1
Minor In Possession of Intoxicants: 1
Felony Possession Of Drugs: 1

Captain Kenley stated: “Enforcement operations such as this are unique because of the combined efforts of so many law enforcement agencies from numerous states. It is through such teamwork that an impact for highway safety can be made. The true success will ultimately be shown by how many lives can be saved on our roads and highways.”
