EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Results Of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) Enforcement Operation

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program’s SAFETE, an enforcement program focusing on violations of commercial motor vehicles. SAFETE was conducted on January 13, 2016, in Greene County. During the operation, troopers stopped 17 commercial vehicles and four non-commercial vehicles. Additionally, 17 commercial motor vehicle inspections were conducted, which resulted in one commercial vehicle being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 3
Commercial Vehicle Hazardous Moving Violation -- 1
Seat Belt Violations -- 3
Non-Moving Violation -- 1

Troopers also issued 32 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Join us in supporting the Drive To Zero Highway Deaths. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
