EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of DWI Saturations
Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of two DWI saturations that were conducted in Phelps County on both September 4, 2010 and on September 5, 2010. Each of the saturations utilized four troopers and was conducted on the two consecutive nights from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m.
During these enforcement operations troopers stopped 77 vehicles, which resulted in the following enforcement totals:
DWI: 2
Speeding: 2
Failure to Wear a Seat Belt: 15
Non-Moving Traffic Offenses: 3
Driver's License Violations: 5
Uninsured Motorists: 8
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrests: 1
Captain Kenley stated, "Troop I will continue to commit troopers to both sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturations. Our statistics indicate that approximately 28 percent of Missouri's traffic fatalities are alcohol related. It is our priority to reduce the number of deaths on Missouri's highways and these enforcement projects will help us accomplish that goal."
