EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Results Of S.T.E.P./Hazardous Moving Operation

Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G releases the following information:

A total of 160 arrests and 219 warnings were issued in conjunction with a S.T.E.P./Hazardous Moving Violations Operation held in Troop G this past Memorial Day holiday weekend. The operation was held in Shannon County at the intersection of Missouri Highway 19 and Route A.
These totals include: two misdemeanor DWI arrests, two speed arrests, 19 seat belt arrests, 13 driver’s license arrests, and 15 uninsured motorist arrests. Officers also made 17 felony drug arrests, 91 misdemeanor drug and weapons violation arrests, and one non-moving arrest.
“Our officers worked very hard over the Memorial Day holiday weekend to ensure the safety of the motoring public,” said Capt.Chadwick. “Drivers who violate driver’s license, insurance, seat belt, and driving while intoxicated laws are a threat to other motorists, and those who possess or transport illegal narcotics are a threat to our society. I am very proud of our officer’s efforts.”
