EMPHASIS: Shooting Incident In Rural Linn County, Missouri


On January 25, 2011, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a Linn County sheriff's deputy contacted Scott E. Robinson, 31, at his residence on Missouri Route 11, north of St. Catherine, Missouri, in rural Linn County, in reference to an active Linn County misdemeanor arrest warrant for passing bad checks. As the deputy was attempting to arrest Robinson, he drew a loaded handgun from his waistband and shot himself. Robinson was transported to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, by a Life Flight Eagle #1 helicopter. Robinson is currently listed in serious condition.
The incident is currently being investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control.
