EMPHASIS: Highway Patrol Arrests Subject For Sodomy And Statutory Rape.



On Today’s date, April 2, 2008 the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control in cooperation with the Dade County Sheriff’s Department arrested Markey L. Haden, 47, of Springfield, Missouri.

The arrest culminated from an investigation that began in March 2008. The investigation revealed a 14 year-old female became acquainted with Haden in the summer 2005, in Dade County. In August 2007 the relationship between Haden and the minor became inappropriate and evolved, resulting in the following charges of eight counts of sodomy and four counts of statutory rape. Numerous firearms were found in Haden’s house, in Springfield. Further charges are pending the conclusion of the investigation.

The charges for which the above person is accused are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
