EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Christmas, NewYear's Traffic Crash and Arrest Totals


Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, Rolla, announces the traffic crash and DWI enforcement totals for both the Christmas and New Year’s counting period for the six-county Troop I area.
During the Christmas counting period, which began at 6 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2011, and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011, Troop I officers investigated 14 traffic crashes that resulted in four injuries and one fatality. Troopers also made six arrests for driving while intoxicated. Over the same period in 2010, officers assigned to Troop I investigated 87 traffic crashes, which resulted in 17 injuries and no fatalities. In 2010, three arrests were made for driving while intoxicated.
During the New Year’s counting period, which began at 6 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2011, and ended at11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012, Troop I officers investigated 14 traffic crashes, which resulted in four injuries and one fatalities. During that period, troopers made seven arrests for driving while intoxicated. During the 2011 New Year’s counting period, Troop I officers investigated 14 traffic crashes, resulting in six injuries and no fatalities. They also made five arrests for driving while intoxicated last year.
Captain Kenley stated, “With each new year, many of us will make resolutions with the hope of making life better for both ourselves and others. I encourage all Missouri motorists to make courteous and safe driving one of those resolutions.”
