EMPHASIS: New Trooper Assigned To Christian County


Captain Randy Beydler, commanding officer, Troop D, Springfield, has announced the assignment of Trooper Michael W. Lee, a member of the 87th Recruit class, to Zone 12, Christian County.

On January 7, 2008, Trooper Lee started recruit training at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri. He received 27 weeks of rigorous training; studying topics such as motor vehicle law, crash investigation, first aid, firearms, public relations, criminal law, and physical conditioning. On July 11, 2008, Trooper Lee was commissioned during a graduation ceremony on the south lawn of Missouri’s Capitol. Beginning July 28, 2008, Lee will work with his field-training officer, Trooper Scott Rice, for approximately three months, and then transition into working the zone by himself.

Trooper Lee was born in Springfield, Missouri and graduated from Chadwick High School in Chadwick, Missouri. Lee began his career with the Patrol in 1997 in the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division and later transitioned to a Commercial Vehicle Officer assigned to Springfield. Michael and his wife, Traci, are the parents of a son, Caleb (9).
